Google’s new Waze navigation app is integrating with Android Auto. Android Auto is the new operating system of Google’s hands-free smart car.

According to Google Play Store, as reported by Recode, there are almost 5 million users of the Android Auto. These users also have access to Google’s other basic navigation app also known as the Google Maps.

Android Auto is the same as what it does when used in mobile. It still has the same capabilities when it is used on a car’s dashboard screen.

However, this time, the Waze for Android Auto is going to be more automatic. Drivers will be able to ask the app directly when they need help in navigating to their selected destination. Waze will return the routes optimized with information about any traffic congestions, closures, and even accidents.

Waze is very popular now and has already earned a bit of cult following for a lot of users. Connecting it with dashboard screens and running it through Android Auto will be a smart choice.

Connecting the app to the operating system of the car will make it easier for drivers to spot their destination. Using Wave’s voice operating system, there is no need to type in the address of the destination – the driver just needs to say it.

The operating system is also more attractive for drivers who are already using Waze. It will also benefit the phone sales of Android devices.

Unfortunately, Waze is not yet integrating with the operating system of Apple CarPlay. However, the app works on iPhones.

The new auto version of Waze also does not show up ads. This is the annoying part for Android mobile apps.

Adapting the app to your car’s operating system means that you only have one screen. Because of this, launching the advertisement in another screen will not be possible.

However, compared with the mobile app, the car version app cannot do everything that the mobile app can do. One of which is the carpooling app.

For the Waze mobile app users, the Waze carpooling app is very useful. But in the car version, it is not part of its integration. Because of it, carpooling with friends or even coworkers will not be possible.

Another thing is the voice command. Voice commands for the car version will be limited. It will just be for telling the car of where the destination is.

According to Recode, Users cannot verbally tell the app to locate any accidents or congestions on the road. If the user would want this information, it should be inputted manually.

The car version of Waze is available for free. However, the app relies on its network of users to keep all the maps of up-to-date. If there is traffic, congestion or road closure, users would need to alert the community of Waze users. This is for the app to update and provide directions for alternative routes.

According to Telegraph UK, the map of Waze is drawn by Waze editors. It is also updated 24 hours a day, at all countries.
